Open discussion about blogging

Technology has expended as never before and it is now available for everyone no matter what age or education they are.  There is so much can be done with technology that we have today.   I would like to discuss blogging, how it makes people to stay connected and allows everyone to share their daily activities so everyone can be aware of.  For the past few years I have been blogging and I learned its advantages and disadvantages.  The most popular blogs today are Facebook, Twitter, and MySpace which has major number of registers.  According to Pew Report, two major reasons of American people using social media is staying connected with family and friends. Well, not all of them realize how important it is to not to share everything that is going on in your life.  Dana Hull’s article Blogging between the lines opened my eyes on many risk factors that are involved in blogging.  Her article encouraged me to be sensitive and more careful with what being discussed. It is important to filter what is being shared by us because for one person certain post may be interested and for another might be painful.  I am a type of person that will not get hurt by somebodies’ post unless it addressed to me.  Blogging allows us to stay connected but we do not realize how much time we are killing spending on certain webpage and when we look back, we realize that we could have done something more beneficial for our family or just grab a phone and call a friend and have more private conversation instead of publishing it.
From my personal experience, I have learned that many Facebook users like to show what they have and they think that you may not have, things like nice cars, houses, expensive vacation, etc., some have even posted their checks from restaurants so everyone can see how much they can afford.  By doing this, they are sending massage that they live better then you are but then you think into details and see that many people own most of those things (cars, houses…), but they just not sharing all of that information with the world.
I would like to hear other people opinion about blogging.
